I remember doing Keele too, that might have been the only time I went there. Blimey, I had forgotten Chatshow were supporting, did they do that whole tour? I am surprised at forgetting so much, I know this is 24 years ago, but I have a pretty good memory of the tours I did, especially those I enjoye...

Oh I don't deny the Tin Can had quite a throughput of acts.

I think I was there for Zerra One, probably The March Violets, and I can't remember if Spear of Destiny played there or not, but if they did I would quite likely been there.

Unfortunately your memory is correct, and this subject has arisen in this forum before. >From what I recall there were quite a few people hanging around on a rooftop which was kind of behind the stage area. People were there through the afternoon just chatting and relaxing before the venue opened fo...

I'll have to find time to get it scanned. I have a scanner, but its on permanent loan to someone else at the moment! If I get a chance I will go round to where I store old accounts files, and see if I still have the diaries from those days. I found some Violets tour itineraries and a drawing from on...

Memories from the Tufnel Park gig.

What with the activity on this and the March Violets web sites I have been slowly digging old memories out and I had a search through old files to see what I have lying around. I have in front of me the drawing of the lighting design for the above gig, and on the back is a hastily written set list. ...

OK, I have joined MyHeartland, thanks for the info.

I chatted with a contact in Leeds and he has already been on the case with respect to lighting the gig so I am pleased it looks like they will be in good hands from that point of view.

The Violets remain a fave of mine, shame I lost touch with them. I last saw Cleo when she was dating Rocco. I wonder what she would make of his Spanish adventure. :)

Sad news I just read.

Sorry to be the bringer of bad tidings, but bass guitarist Paul Raven has passed away.

I remember when Flesh for Lulu supported PD at the Klub Foot. This was a large room above a pub on London's Hammersmith one way system. Memories I can rake up about that gig were the appaling way the power was supplied to the lights, it was very unsafe which was not untypical of the time. I also rem...

I was at that fateful gig at the Tin Can club. What a horrible dive of a venue it was. I think I did Zerra One and also the Violets there as well as Play Dead amongst others. I remember all the stuff having to go up a few floors, the gig was above a strip club if I remember correctly. What I remembe...

I think Tom has been more active than Cleo. She had one all girl rock band called Lovecraft that were pretty good but didn't last. Tom and Cleo also had a band called Amania, I seem to remember Craig Adams may have been in it, but I only did the one gig with them around ten years ago. You are right ...

New guy here

Hi all, Glad to see there is this site and forum to browse around. Basically I was Googling on Play Dead and March Violets out of curiosity to see what was out there n these two fine acts. I was very fond of both, I did a bunch of one-off gigs with them and also toured with both during the early 198...
