another question for steve

What is the story behind "from the promised land" getting remixed and re-released? Did the label want that to happen or was that your decision? Do you remember how many copies of the 1st edition were pressed? oh, I have a lot more questions too-I just don't want to get you bogged down answering them...

Hey Steve, The biggest question I have for you is what was the main reason that the band broke up? It seems to us outsiders that you were steadily climbing your way up: bigger shows, TV appearances, etc, and then it seems right at your height, it all came apart. It's been a mystery to me for so many...

doh. Too bad you didn't know about my project before you bought that. I can probably interest you in my project though: It's still a VHS transfer, but I've painstakingly replaced the audio track with the LP recording, so it now sounds fantastic. I've also added the Tube performance and a portion of ...

I'm interested in those bootlegs as well-I'll host both the chatshow and PD boots here if you encode them. Please contact me when you get them encoded, or I'd be happy to encode them for you if you're will to trust the postal system and ship me the cassettes. I do a lot of this sort of thing: http:/...

I first found Play Dead in early 1985. It was the Sacrosanct/Pale Fire 12" and I could tell just from the cover art that I was going to like it. (that was back in the days when you could buy music based on the cover art and typically not be disappointed, but I digress) Shortly afterward, I went on a...

Hey, welcome! Check the discography section for mp3s of the peel sessions so you can retire your cassette tape. (although if your tapes sound better than the mp3s I have, I'd be quite interested in upgrading the ones on the site) If you've got a recording of your band doing walk away, I'd gladly hos...

Re: a long time ago.

um, well, hi there! This is quite unexpected, and I'm in a bit of a state at the moment. I'm quite pleased to see you drop in, and I do hope you like what we've done with the place. I think I can speak for everyone when I say Thanks for all that you've done-your music has provided me with 20 years (...

Jeff, Thanks, but I cant find any links to tracks bar the peel sessions...I have at times been known to overlook the obvious. I see the whip compilation piece but see no physical link,. Huh. Try refreshing the discography page or deleting your browser's cache. The links are most certainly there-I j...

Re: The final pieces

You can now roll your own version of "the final pieces" I've uploaded all the tracks, and added links to them from the discography page. There should be 9 tracks (11 if you include the 2 M.A.D. tracks) Sorry to make it a bit of a hunt to find them all (track 1 is in the compilation section under "th...
