Due to a mix up in email addresses, we unfortunately missed the deadline for the band to appear in this article. Shame, it would have been good to see something positive in the contemporary press. Look forward to seeing the piece anyway.

Hi Phil, welcome to the forum. Shame that you don't have the means to digitize this as one of the aims of the site makeover (which is ongoing but way behind schedule for various reasons) is to establish an archive of live recordings of the band. Perhaps, when the time comes, one of us can help you o...

Birmingham Tin Can

I don't think that this is the gig that ended in violence and where that unfortunate chap had his accident, as I remember that was a hot day so it can't have been in December- http://i1257.photobucket.com/albums/ii505/OX4_photos/TinCan.jpg So what year was this- '83? I guess I must have missed this ...

Number 4 in the charts...

While I don't agree with the context and, as we know, the band have always vehemently denied having anything to do with the G word, this is probably their first appearance in the press for a long while- http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012/apr/26/goth-life-fields-nephilim?INTCMP=SRCH The chart is at...

New photos on Facebook

The Play Dead Appreciation Society have a small set of previously unseen photos posted. These appear to have been taken at the final gig at Stevenage Bowes Lyon house.

Facebook users can find them here- https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 821&type=1

Lavolta Lakota were a Southern Death Cult type band led by Dave Hicks. He lived round the corner from me in Hulme and was later in Revenge with Peter Hook. I remember Hooky turning up and doing FOH sound for them when they supported PD at Leeds Tiffany's. As for the Futurama bands, I was there just...

Futurama 1983

This is the festival I was referring to in this post http://www.companyofjustice.com/forum/v ... .php?t=176 How many of these bands do you remember and how many of them were, honestly, any good, looking back?

i've read 4003 has a perfect rock sound Well, I don't know about that. A perfect sound is very subjective thing. Ricky basses certainly have a sound remarkably different from other basses and whether that sound would be what you are looking for is hard to say. If you want that Pete W sound though, ...

I agree about the Pete Waddleton's precise and powerful way of using his bass guitar. I've looked to "Into the Fire" video and Pete W. seemed to play a Rickenbacker 4003 with an Ampeg amp...am i right ? What was the other bass guitar put behind him ? The Rickenbacker was a 4001, virtually...

Seems we were both wrong. Word from the band is that they played the Marquee twice. The first time was supporting UK Decay during Jan 1982 and the second time was their own headline gig on 12th July 1983. And here's the proof- http://i1257.photobucket.com/albums/ii505/OX4_photos/PDadvertSmall.jpg Lo...
