ok, here's a band I've been wanting to share with you for awhile.
This band is basically the 1st band I ever saw live; my first real concert that I was able to go to, and it was a life changer.
When this band played the song "number 3" I knew I wanted to be a musician. One of those moments that I really can't describe in words.
The band, if it came out today, might be called some sort of post punk screamo type band, but before those labels existed, they were just a band with a diverse range of styles, from their punk roots through some darker goth sounds, to a heavier rock style. These samples are from that middle period.
Anyway, this track:
you will notice has some very Steve Green influenced guitar playing. Back then, I thought every band sounded like play dead though.
Please forgive the obviously 80s "solo" in it.
This track:
is easily one of the scariest tracks I've heard. There's an incredible amount of atmosphere built up in this track, and it perfectly matches the mood on the album cover:

And finally, a song that is easily in my favorite songs of all time, No 3:
I just recently dug out the old vinyl on these guys and had a listen to no 3 again after not hearing it for a bunch of years. still tickles my spine every time I hear it.
