Three new items have been added to the audio downloads archive. Two mixing desk quality live sets from Stoke Shellys on 03/06/85 and Nottingham Rock City on 22/10/85 and an interview with Rob & Pete from Danish national radio in October 1984. Play Dead on French TV, 1985.

Finally located after a long search, Play Dead’s 1985 appearance on French TV show ‘Decibels De Nuit’ is now up on YouTube. Copied from an old VHS tape, the quality isn’t that great but the rarity value is once again through the roof. Rare Play Dead live footage found.

The audio quality may not be great but the rarity value is through the roof. Bootleg footage of Play Dead live in May 1985 has emerged online. Here’s a taster, This Side Of Heaven live at Amsterdam Paradiso on 14th May 1985 We are told that the rest of the footage from this date will be uploaded in due course. Watch this space.

Despite claims made this week on social media, Play Dead are NOT making a live appearance in Banbury (or anywhere else) this coming weekend. This posting, claiming to be from a member of Play Dead, is a total fabrication made by a person- or persons- unknown for reasons which are also unknown. Please do not make any travel arrangements or undertake any personal expense to attend this totally fictitious event. The band currently have no plans to reform or play live for the forseeable future. When- and if- these plans change we will inform you first through official channels i.e. this website and the Play Dead pages on Facebook and Twitter. Please do not give credence to information from any other source and/or contribute to the spread of incorrect information. Thanks to a friend of companyofjustice.com who is a long term resident of the Oxford area, a number of photos and an audio cassette of First Offence have turned up. This band is notable as being the band that both Pete Waddleton and Steve Green were members of prior to the formation of Play Dead. Check out the photos over in the forum. UK reissue specialists Let Them Eat Vinyl have scheduled three Play Dead albums for release in ‘Deluxe Vinyl’ format. ‘The First Flower’ ‘Company Of Justice’ and ‘The Final Epitaph’ are each available on 140g coloured vinyl and ‘The First Flower’ has been expanded to a two disc set that includes extra tracks. ‘The First Flower’ will be in the shops on 7th August 2015, with ‘Company Of Justice’ and ‘The Final Epitaph’ to follow.
