I have no answers to the questions I’m asked
I tell no lies ‘cos I know no truths
They send me feelings but I don’t have a heart
They say that living is a strain
But it doesn’t affect me ‘cos I feel no pain
‘Cos everybody tries
Everybody tries
Everybody tries to catch a TV eye
Oh TV eye
TV eye
Everybody tries
Everybody tries
Everybody tries to catch a TV eye
Oh TV eye
TV eye
I see a woman standing in a rainy street
The water splashes runs round her feet
It doesn’t seem to matter she doesn’t seem to care
Oh no
The only thing she thinks about is her life’s affairs
Everybody tries
Everybody tries
Everybody tries to catch a TV eye
Oh TV eye
TV eye
Everybody tries
Everybody tries
Everybody tries to catch a TV eye
Oh TV eye
TV eye
If love makes the world go round then why do you all sit and frown?
If music is for people’s joy why do we all sing a lie?
If everything is black and white why do we all live in fright?
We spend our lives building homes when all you leave is engraved stones
Everybody tries
Everybody tries
Everybody tries to catch a TV eye
Oh TV eye
